Enter Napoleon!
May 3, 2008 12:00 AM

This weekend we got an awesome addition to our family, Mr. Napoleon Cockrell. We drove all the way out to Aurora, Mo. to get him (that's about an 8 hour drive from Chicago). He was worth every minute of it.

We named him Napoleon after Napoleon Dynomite which is a favorite movie of our. Our love for that movie, in a round about way, is initially what broughy us together.

Anyways, within a couple days Napoleon fell off the couch and ended up with a hairline fracture and will be wearing a splint for a few weeks. It's a dangerous world we live in.

Oh and what a coincedence when we were at the vet with him today the dog that was checked in after Napoleon was named Dynomite. How's that for weird?

Family Trip to the City
April 5, 2008 12:00 AM

The girls went to see Wicked today and my Dad and I went to see, the band, Chicago's exhibit at the Chicago History Museum. Turns out the exhibit feature a guitar, a sumbol, and trumpet and one or two other wind instruments. And the whole exhibit was about six feet wide.

There was a couple other new exhibits there that weren't there last time we were there, so there was new things to see. And despite the disappointment of the Chicago exhibit we had a great time. While we were there we took some time to visit the site of the St. Valentine's Day Massacre. It's basically a small empty lot. The only evidence that there was ever anything there is a tar line on the buidling to the left from the garage where the Moran gang was ambushed.

Afterwards we met up with the girls in Millenium Park, took some pictures and had some dinner at Bennigan's... mmmmmm... Monte Cristo.

Birthday bash
March 30, 2008 12:00 AM

Last night Mindy threw me a birthday party at the local Buffalo Wild Wings. It was a great time. For my golden birthday she went all out and bought me one of these babies!

I did not realize how much I needed one of these. And man are they easy to set up. You just plug it into the computer follow the steps in itunes and you get a text message when it's active, like 10 minutes later.

It was a truly "golden" birthday as I hit the jackpot in receiving some giftcards allowing me to get a new harddrive and Wacom pad for my laptop, as well as tickets to the "Devil in the White City Boat Tour" in June.
